Ok then, I go seek out the bridge keeper, and ask him if he thinks of the phrase "where a river crosses the bridge" as pertaining to the moonbridge

("Mmmm, don't know about the river, but seems like a moonbridge would be the place to start lookin' for a bridge. Any idea where you want me to open the bridge to?")

((Ack, i know too little about this. Didn't realize it could be opened to multiple locations. I thought it was a way to go from one place to one other )) "Well, I'm looking for a tree where a river crosses the bridge. I don't suppose that phrase means anything to you. What are my options?" ((Are there any nearby caerns that are accessible for instance?))

((Well, a bridge may be opened between caerns, and there are lots of caerns...))
("Mmm, well, I suppose a place to start would be where there are trees, huh. The sequoia forest isn't far, and the bridge to the caern there crosses some rivers...")

"Well, lets give that a shot then, shall we?"

He nods, and after a few moments, the bridge is opened. ("If you get all the way to the caern, give 'em my regards!")
The bridge itself is... somewhat narrow. It's easy to see the quite a bit of the umbra beneath you and to a certain extent above you. You see patches of healthy, vibrant green below you now, with a greyish white off in the distance toward the coast.

"What do you mean, 'IF I make it to the caern?' Is this dangerous?" I ask. I will wait a moment for a response before I head off across the bridge, keeping an eye out for a river or tree of note, looking both up and down.

He replies, "No one ever said you had to stay on the bridge the whole way."
Most things look rather unremarkable. You make it a fair distance from the caern before you cross the first river, and even at that, it's more of a creek. Roll me Wits+Enigmas, difficulty 7.

5 dice - 4, 3, 9, 6, 9 (3, 4, 6, 9, 9) - 2 success
((Can I get back on the bridge after having gotten off? BTW, I have a char sheet for you))

((Yay. Give a copy of it to Cody or something...))
Yes, you can get back on the bridge if you need to, though it'll take a bit of work.
Anyway, as you're walking and admiring the scenery, you note that the band of the Milky Way looks especially bright tonight as it passes you overhead, crossing your path.

<Internal Monologue> Hmm, given the garou's natural connections with the moon, the Milky Way would seem a likely 'river.' The wording Marks gave me did seem to imply that the river was crossing over the bridge, rather than under.
"I've hidden an item in the umbra...All I can tell you is that a tree holds the key, where a river crosses the bridge. Vague enough for you, Koeus?" I recite to myself ((Eidetic Memory)).
I wonder what he meant by "a tree holds the key." Either a tree will provide me the next clue to finding whatever object Marks hid, or the item I seek IS a key and it is held by a tree. ((Char vs Player Knowledge)).
Regardless, now that I have found the 'river', I should begin looking for this 'tree'.
</Internal Monologue>
First, I look to the stars, searching for any treelike constellation; if the river is an astral body, perhaps the tree is too...
If I don't find anything, I will proceed by searching for a notable tree/tree spirit, leaving the moon bridge if necessary.

Below you is the start of the sequoia forest. Lots and lots of trees, most of them are extremely tall and very old. There is a tree that seems to stand out in height above the rest that is nearby, and has attracted some Wyld spirits.

I head towards the tree confidently, and with a peaceful and calm demeanor. I stay on my guard, but try not to show it. As long as they don't threaten me, I have no reason to be openly aggressive.

The spirits seem to be dancing in some sort of circle around the tree, and leave you alone if you keep your distance. They bite and nip and scratch if you try to break their circle.

I keep my distance and observe them for a little while. ((How does Spirit Speech work exactly? Can I actually communicate with them?)) ((Is there some kind of roll I can make to figure out more about what they are doing?)) ((Would this be a situation where Uncloak the Hidden would be of use to determine if something (Marks' item perhaps) is hidden at the tree?))
