Beggars - or in this case, thieves - can't be choosers. We'll take what's available.

Is the cooling and stuff off? Stuff might have started to go bad, but that really shouldn't be a problem for our wolf forms.

Yeah, the power's out. Hard to tell for how long.

"What a wonderful smell I've discovered..." James covers his nose. "We can save some of the fresher bits in my cooler in the back of my truck."

Ulric will help his brother get some meat together that they can stash for later (although we'll probably have to leave the truck somewhere before going after the last two shards). After helping out he'll have some food for himself.

It tastes a little off, but you've had worse.
Shall I assume everyone tanks up before you leave, and you cook some up for those who can't (or prefer not to) eat it raw?

Pretty much, yeah.

Yep, then we'll head off towards that first shard.

A few minor earthquakes upset your journey, but for the most part, you arrive at the first shard in one piece and relatively quickly.
The area around the shard looks similar to the last shard (crater and whatnot), except that a remarkably thick layer of grass and small flowers has bloomed here. There's also a considerable amount of silver dust.
Looking sideways reveals a quiet, peaceful meadow practically untouched by Wyrm or Weaver.

"Well, it's nice to not see any banes around for once."
Is the silver dust harmful to us? Like, to walk on and stuff...

It stings a bit, yes.

Ulric turns back to homid so he can walk on the stuff without it being a pain in the butt. He's gonna go look for the actual fragment in the middle of this crater.

I'll search the area, keep an eye out for anyone else looking for it. The meadow in particular catches my eye.

James is on overwatch, an eye out for an ambush, or any other trouble.

Anyway, you look around for the shard. A few straight perception rolls (diff 6) are in order methinks.
