((Are there any wendigo in the caern that might be friendly enoguh to me to teach me a new gift?)) If there are, I'll go approach them. If not, I'll head into the umbra and look for some wolf spirits.
((BTW this would be after we find out that there is a coupla day lag time in the moonbridge search.))

((Also, Ulric would like to find a wolf spirit too, so if you go looking for one let him know. He would have told you this since you're the main umbra guy.))

You'd probably be on better terms with Laughing Wind. He's currently on guard duty.

I'll wait til he is off duty to talk to him, don't want to compromise the security of the caern. I'll still keep a look out for wolf spirits on Ulric's behalf whenever I'm in the umbra. Perhaps we can go find one during some of this downtime.

He's at the end of his shift. "What's up?"

"While discussing my pack's latest mission and our difficulties tracking our prey, I heard tell of a Wendigo gift that would have made things much easier. To make a long story short, I was wondering if you could teach me the Truth of the Hunted."

"I know the gift... but it would probably be better to learn it from a spirit. Let me know if you don't find one and I'll teach you for sure."

((Assume that Ulric has finished talking with his mother and is available to join you in the umbra to go looking for a wolf spirit))

"All right, thank you very much." I go find Ulric, then head off to the umbra in search of a wolf spirit. Once in the umbra I shift to lupus, and take off towards the nearest forest/wooded area.
((So, will Ulric have a difficult time learning from the spirit given that he must communicate with it through me?))

I'll go in lupus as well. Figure we should greet a wolf as a wolf. Hmmm, well, I need to learn spirit speech too while I'm at it, maybe the wolf could teach that too, but that might be pushing it a little time-wise.

You just have to find other ways to communicate other than speaking. Not all Garou that have gifts have access to Spirit Speech.
Anyway, off to the Umbra. The woods are pretty silent, and there are no immediate signs of wolves here.

3,5,6,9,0,0,(9, 1)-5 successes on perception+survival(diff 6) to find any signs of a trail indicating that wolves have been here recently.

Yeah. You find an old trail leading off to the northwest. At the end of said trail, you find a small pack (four) of wolves chilling in a glen. They seem somewhat skiddish.

Ulric thinks about the tail between the legs, but that seems a bit too submissive... Still, he'll lay down so he's in a lower posture. Hopefully that'll help the wolves feel better.

Likewise, I will adopt a friendly, non threatening posture as we approach.
