He'll try to mimic her change until realizing, of course, that he's stuck in Crinos. So he'll just sniff the air anyway, see if he can smell what she's smelling.

You smell something akin to rotting trash. It's quite pungent, and very foul.

"Eech, what's that stench? Tha' don' smell like it belongs here."
[As a side note, is Jack in fact still shape-stuck while in the Umbra? Dunno if different rules apply in the shadow world, after all.]

Yup, still stuck. Afterall, still is new moon over in the Umbra.
Sings shifts to Crinos, ("Best be on your guard, I think it's a wyrm spirit. Let's see if we can ambush it...")

He smiles nastily. <Sounds like a plan ta me!> Jack looks around for a place to hide out of sight, trying to make sure he's "downwind" of whatever's coming his way, so he can't be smelt.
(I asked the question cause I picked up the Umbra sourcebook, Velvet Shadow, so I imagine there are a few places in the Umbra where the concept of a moon doesn't quite apply. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing!)
(Also, you're back! Yay!)

(oooh, you shall have to lend it to me...)
You do so--and as predicted the creature comes into view. It's about the size of a bear, with a few tentacles coming off the sides of it, moving slowly. It's oozing black sludge, and smells remarkably foul. It doesn't seem to notice your presence.

Jack will look at it, trying to see if it has any weak points or blind spots, so he can sneak attack it. Once he's done that, he'll pick up a nearby rock and sneakily throw it at a bush (or the water, I suppose) away from both him and Sings, hoping to distract the creature.

(So, when are you getting back?)
Mmm, roll me straight perception (diff 6) to notice the weak points. As for blind spots... kinda hard to say. Probably right behind it. Hard to tell where its eyes are.
You do successfully distract the creature, it looks at where the rock landed, but perks up a bit.

(Probably around wednesday or thursday or so, I think. Depends on a few last minute things here.)
Roll on three dice: 4, 7, 7. If he sees a weak spot, he'll wait until the creature's not looking, then leap out and attack!

It seems to be already injured. Foot you suspect.
Alrighty, declare your attack and roll for it! ^^ He won't get the opportunity to dodge, so go right ahead and roll damage as well.

Claw attack! Preferably to the weak leg/side. LOL, edited cause I'm in Crinos, duh. (Dex(4+1)+Brawl(1) = 6 dice: 4,4,6,7,7,8. Damage, 4-1+strength(1+4)+2 = 10 dice WOOT, 1,2,4,8,8,8,9,9,10-6,10-8) 9 successes on damage! I got me some hot dice tonight.

Damn, good job. You slash the leg clean off. Sings easily finishes it off. She looks impressed so far with the amount of damage you did.
("Good job.")
As you look down at your claws, you notice they're covered not only with the blackish goo, but also with some fine, white threads.

Jack's a bit stunned by his own ferociousness/lethality, but he's not going to show it, instead acting cool/taking it in stride.
("Thanks, luv. It's all in tha' wrist. What was tha' thing, anyway?... Wait a sec, what's this white stuff? Kinda looks like spider webs.")

((Btw, remember to subtract one success for each 1 you get, unless RekKa is getting rid of that rule))

((Yeah. I'll let it slide for now cuz that roll was pretty damn awesome.))
Sings comes over and takes a look, and nods. ("That's exactly what it is. We should get back.") She shifts back to homid, whips out a mirror from her pocket, and you return to the physical world.
Without a word, she walks back over toward your temporary camp.
