Can he dog crawl over behind a tree or something to get more out of sight?

You do so, and he somehow still is oblivious to your presence.

Mental sigh of relief, cause he's still too afraid at this point that any actual sigh would give him away.
Now about how far away was he?

About ten to fifteen feet, maybe?
Anyway, about that green glow. It's very bright from here, but still looks a good distance away.

Alright, he really wants to attack this BSD, but he's gonna wait for a minute and see if he moves somewhere else so he can start sneaking towards the green glow. Also, is there stuff on the ground that'll make sound if he steps on it, like leaves and twigs in the real world?

You betcha there's things that'll make noise if you step on them. Perhaps more noise than usual.

Well, he's already had to wait for a while today, so he can stand a little bit more. He's gonna give it a few minutes and see if the BSD does anything.

It yawns, and scratches at some spotty patches of skin.

Even though he really wants to attack it, he's gonna go with the smarter and hopefully safer path and try to sneak away towards the light.
Sneaky sneaky. 4,5,7,7

Good call.
The dice like you. No one notices you.
You get close enough to see that there are about ten BSDs sitting around a bright green fire. Chillin' for now. The fire seems to cackle and hiss with unnatural fury.

Holy Shiznit! Ok, first, that's a lot of BSD's. Second, what the hell is a green fire doing here? Ok, calm down. This is the spirit world. Maybe fire's are just green in the spirit world... I hope...
Anyway, he's gonna hang around and watch a little, see if they talk about any of their future plans. Also, he's gonna look around to see if they have any kind of cave or main place that they stay in.

Some of them look badly injured, and they don't say much.
Something, however, that catches your eye is a very large... stick. A stick with thorns on it. It looks pretty well crafted... and would be sorely missed...

Ok, spending a willpower to calm his nerves (aka, for pack mentality) and then slowly shift forms over to crinos while he has the cover.
Once he's changed he's gonna try to very carefully get into a position where he can reach out one hand and grab ahold of the stick, then look into a shiny part of it and pull himself and it back into the physical realm.

The dice seriously don't like these BSD's. Then again, the one you're taking it from is injured and not entirely there.
Anyway, you slip over to the other side. No one is there except a random human (well, not really random--it's pretty easy to tell he's another BSD), but he's looking the other direction. Smoking a cigarette.
If you're quiet, you should be able to easily sneak past him. Seriously, don't get caught here either.

Sneaking with a heavy stick is a little trickier...
I could probably hit him before he can change back to crinos, then at least he wouldn't be able to soak at all. Also, he probably wouldn't be able to get back over to the other side to warn the others. Then they'd just find him dead later... Besides what kind of Get rite of passage would it be if I didn't get into any fights at all?
